How we compare, including where we lose.
A comparison page written by a vendor is marketing. We know that, so we have made as much of this one checkable as we are willing to: the specifications are exact, the prices are what the providers publish, the method and the collection date are stated, and there is a section on what we do worse. What you cannot check is which four providers these are, and that is a real limit on the page rather than an oversight — read the next paragraph before deciding how much weight to give the table.
We do not name competitors, for two reasons. Their prices change weekly and a named table goes stale within a month, and naming smaller providers in an unfavourable comparison is a form of competition we would rather not practise. The consequence is that you are taking our word for the four columns, which is exactly the thing we tell you not to do elsewhere on this site. The ranges are drawn from four well-known privacy and offshore hosts; price them yourself and tell us if we are wrong.

What each provider actually offers
Based on publicly advertised features. Where a provider offers a partial version — Monero through a third-party swapper rather than natively, for example — it is marked partial rather than yes.

Reasons to buy from someone else
Every comparison page that concludes the author wins at everything is worthless. Here are the cases where we are genuinely the wrong choice.
You need managed services
We sell compute. We do not sell managed Postgres, object storage with a hundred-nines durability claim, a Kubernetes control plane, or a message queue. If your architecture assumes those exist, a mainstream cloud will serve you far better and we will not pretend otherwise.
You need compliance certifications
We hold no SOC 2 report, no ISO 27001 certificate, and no PCI DSS attestation, and we are not pursuing them. Those regimes require exactly the identity records and audit logging we have built the company to avoid. If you are handling regulated data, our architecture is incompatible with your obligations.
You need dozens of regions
We operate nine. If you need edge presence in thirty countries, or a specific city we do not serve, we cannot help — and adding regions we cannot properly assess legally is not something we will do to win a checkbox.
You cannot use cryptocurrency
We do not accept cards, PayPal, or bank transfers, and we will not. If crypto is genuinely not available to you, we are unusable, and no amount of feature advantage changes that.
You want bare metal in an exotic location
Our VOID tier is bare-metal-class but it is still virtualised. Several offshore providers offer genuine dedicated hardware in more locations than we do. If you need physical isolation specifically, buy it from them.
You want a phone number to shout at
There is no phone support and there never will be — a phone line means voice recordings, caller ID, and a telephony provider in a jurisdiction we did not choose. Support is by encrypted ticket, Matrix, XMPP and email, and we aim to answer a new ticket within 11 minutes.
Method
Prices were collected on 8 July 2026 from the public pricing pages of four privacy-focused or offshore hosting providers with at least three years of continuous operation and a publicly stated no-KYC or offshore positioning. All figures are converted to EUR at the rate on that date and are for monthly billing with no promotional discount applied to any provider, including us.
Where no exact specification match existed, we used the next tier up from the target specification, which favours the competitor. Where a provider bundles something we charge for, or vice versa, we did not adjust — the comparison is of advertised list prices, not of value.
The capability table covers three of the four providers, not all four. Host D publishes a price list and very little else, so we have no documented basis for assessing its features and have left it out of that table rather than guessing. It is still in the price table, where the figures are published.
Capability assessments come from public documentation. "Partial" means a provider offers a limited or indirect version: Monero only via a third-party swapper, a warrant canary that is unsigned or has no stated schedule, an onion service for the website but not the API, or KYC waived below a spending threshold.
Why we are cheaper
Three structural reasons, none of them a promotion that expires:
- We own the hardware in six of nine regions. Colocation plus owned servers is roughly 40% cheaper over a four-year refresh cycle than renting from a provider who owns them, and we run our fleet for five years rather than three.
- We sell no managed services. No managed database team, no support tier structure, no professional services organisation. Compute and network, nothing else.
- We have no sales team and buy no advertising. Customers arrive through the knowledge base, word of mouth, and people linking to the Jurisdiction Matrix. That is a large line item we simply do not have.
What we do not do to hit the price: oversubscribe cores beyond 3:1 on shared tiers and never on dedicated ones, use consumer SSDs, run without redundant power, or skimp on transit. If you find us slower than a competitor at the same price, tell us and we will investigate it as a fault.
Corrections
If you operate one of the providers surveyed and believe a figure is wrong, write to us and we will verify and correct it within a week. A correction we accept is noted here and attributed to whoever sent it.
Comparison questions
Is VPSDEN cheaper than other offshore hosts?
Yes, by 39 to 48 percent against the median of the four providers surveyed, at the same specification. A 2 vCPU / 4 GB / 60 GB NVMe / 10 TB instance is €7.90 per month at VPSDEN against roughly €11 to €25 across comparable privacy-focused offshore providers as of July 2026. The difference comes from owning our hardware in six of nine regions, selling no managed services, and employing no sales team.
What does VPSDEN not do as well as competitors?
Three things. Large mainstream clouds have far more regions, managed database and object storage services, and a compliance certification portfolio we do not have and are not pursuing. Some offshore hosts offer dedicated bare metal in more locations than our nine. And any provider accepting cards is easier to pay if you have never used cryptocurrency — we do not accept cards and will not.
